Great for preparing for CDL school

This is a very good text to prepare you for CDL school. I read it before going to school and it greatly helped keep up during the actual schooling. (My school used a different book but having read this one beforehand, it made the nightly homework readings a snap while attending school.)

I've been driving over a year now and am still glad I bought this book.

Comprehensive guide to trucking and trucking equipment. This is a wonderful resource, very thorough, easy to read and I used this as a reference and refresher many times. If you have the foresight to read this book before attending a trucking school then you will be well prepared for handling your job.

I this that this "red book" is more useful than the spiral-bound popular red book. It is easier to look up coins. It is limited to U.S. coins. It would be nice if there were a page or two in which I could look up pesos or francs, as they come up often in auctions.

i could not get interested in this book ,it only became interesting to me at the 80% stage ,i honestly thought it was a load of rubbish despite the fact i love Amy Huberman ,the main character was weak,i could not see anything in it at all,all the reference to movie stars bored me ,.

Best investment I've ever made - from a business school student's perspective!

Not only is this book helpful, but it's inspiring. Who doesn't want more money? This book reveals the do's and don't's that most Americans don't know. As a business student myself, it was shocking to read about all the little tricks and myths that countless young students don't realize will hurt their credit scores and their wallets. As a college student, in the most expensive city in America (NYC), I didn't even want to look at my bank statements, because I had no idea how it was possible to spend more and more money each month. Even after budgeting, I never seemed to stick to my initial plans. After reading this, I started following Mr. Gamm's guide book every day - budgeting my expenses and being careful with credit card statements. Let's just say my bank account would like to express a BIG thank you. I recommend getting this book for anyone - the high school teenager who should start learning how to budget his own expenses, the college student who is thrown into the adult world without knowing how to build her credit score, or even adults who have been doing it for years but can always learn more. No matter what profession, industry, or field one is studying, this book seems to uncover some of the most surprising and helpful tools to help people save money. Great holiday gift, birthday present, and personal purchase. Best investment I've ever made - and this is coming from a business school student.

About the Author

Thomas Rice, PhD, is professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Fielding School of Public Health. Between 2006 and 2011, he also served as vice chancellor for academic personnel at UCLA. Dr. Rice received his doctorate in economics from the University of California at Berkeley in 1982. He served on the faculty of the University of North Carolina School of Public Health from 1983 to 1991, when he joined UCLA. Dr. Rice has published widely on issues such as the behavioral economics of healthcare, competition and regulation in health services, physicians economic behavior, cost containment, health insurance, and the Medicare program.

Lynn Unruh, PhD, RN, is professor in the Department of Health Management and Informatics at the University of Central Florida. Dr. Unruh received her bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Illinois and her doctorate in economics from the University of Notre Dame. She has published extensively in areas such as nurse staffing and quality in hospitals and nursing homes, the nursing workforce, the work environment in hospitals and nursing homes, and the organizational responses of hospitals and nursing homes to reimbursement, regulatory, and market forces.
