Good tips book, not truely for Advanced/Pro players

Very good 'general missed basic tips' book to read. It doesn't really go into any super specifics, although I am very partial to Daniel Negreanu's writing. He points out some normal holes in a player's play style, which is very nice and refreshing. I like how he has his book written in the aspect that I never really get bored/irritated in reading it. It's very good in reference to keeping someone entralled in reading the book.

I like the fact that skims over common mistakes and ways to play. I like the fact that its moreso 'meat and potatoes' in a quick version then a very lengthy book that you have to read, at times, over and over again.

I would HIGHLY recommend this to players that are just beginning or are trying to take that next step up in limits in reference to tournaments. Good buy unless you are already playing higher limits.

Overall, I would recommend this book to players who want to help elevate their game. Very 'spread' kind of read.

Good helpful tips, like the format of very short to the point chapters. Each chapter is only 2 or 3 pages so it's a good bathroom reader. Very good for the intermediate player. I probably would not recommend it for a beginner.

Like Precious Faith

Hunted this type of Faith all my life. 2nd Peter 1:1 opens with "Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:" 'like precious faith' is rare and precious, indeed.
KEH has 'like precious faith' because he not only teaches the Word, but urges us to study it for ourselves. It is precious to find a Bible scholar who doesn't try to dominate, but knows 2 Cor. 1:24 "Not that we lord it over your faith, but we work with you for your joy, because it is by faith you stand firm." Two things I value: 1) To know for myself. 2) To be respected as an equal believer and not 'talked down to' by a leader.
KEH lifts us up in Christ: Luke 22:69 "But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the mighty God." Glory to God!

So good!

This is one of my favorite daily devotional books! It's not too short, nor too long, it is easy to read and yet so powerful! It's mainly about spiritual health, healing and faith, and the cool thing is, the story sort of continues on for few days. This helps you really soak the information you're reading for couple days and don't feel rushed to chow down all the spiritual goodness without really digesting it. Really good for individual devotional, I think it's also very good for small groups, and more. This book is perfect for anyone who needs an encouragement and a challenge to have greater faith and to believe in more.

Very helpful!

My Crim law professor provided very little feedback in the course of his class. Thus, it was very hard to get discrepancies in understanding sorted out, and our casebook was less than helpful; focusing more on state case law instead of the MPC or Common Law. This book was lent to one of my study-partners by one of his good friends that had CALI'd his Crim law class at another law school. Well my study-partner let me use the book and I ended up reading it pretty much from cover to cover, it was a great book and very useful at supplementing the information we learned in class. I used it to create a detailed outline for my study group and we all did very well in the class and I ultimately received the CALI award for highest grade in Criminal Law. I really do attribute that award to this book. It was great! And as a result I am now a Research Assistant for that professor. So all in all, very helpful book! The only disappointment with the book was that (if I remember correctly) the book didn't cover one topic at all, and I think that was entrapment ... just a little weird.

Sorry, but this book is terrible. While it is packed with information, the structure is incredibly poor and it manifests as word vomit with no semblance or order or organization. While the editor attempts to create structure with letters and numbers as one would with an outline, while reading in linear fashion, the headings are quickly lost and it just blurs together as one, long, continuous diatribe on criminal law. What is direly missing here are some visual depictions of the legal rules, categories and classifications. For example, the book spews out common law and MPC definitions of murder and manslaughter, including various degrees, voluntary/involuntary, etc. and then shifts to Model Penal Code definitions including new terms, categorizations etc. It all just becomes a haze in the end. Some sort of organizational chart showing the sequential flow and connectivity between the various pieces would make this book actually useful. As it stands now, it is garbled legalese spewn onto paper like an elephant given a paintbrush and a few buckets of paint. I will be glad when I never have to pick this book up again.

Best Crim Supplement

Best criminal law supplement available. Unlike those 1000 page monstrosities you need to start reading 2 years before you even enroll in law school to use (I'm looking at you, Chemerinsky), this one breaks complicated subjects down into easy-to-understand explanations that you can read 24 hours before the exam and still find incredibly useful. Not that I'm speaking from personal experience or anything...
Save yourself some headaches trying to understand the difference between conspiracy and accomplice liability on your own and buy/rent it now.

The best book on its subject

As the parent of a wonderful adult son who became addicted to a narcotic, I have read countless books and materials on this topic. This is the single most helpful source I have found. The advice is both hard-hitting and compassionate, and the way in which it is presented is very readable and accessible (I read it in two nights in two sittings). If someone you love is addicted to alcohol or a drug, this is the book for you. Don't give up. Read this and get started. Good luck to you and your loved person.

Jules is everything Dylan's been looking for, and he knows without a doubt he'll never be able to trust any woman the way he does her. She could care less about his money, and refuses to let him spend a penny of it on her. Despite how much he wants her, he also knows his best friend will never approve of him going after his little sister, so Dylan decides to just make Jules his sexy little secret.

Jules is falling helplessly in love with Dylan, even though she knows he only sees her as a temporary booty call, part of their indecent proposal to help each other out. After Dylan's assurance that he wants more, she wonders if it's possible that he could actually be falling for her, too. She has her doubts since Dylan made it clear that he doesn't have any plans of telling her brother the truth about what the two of them have been doing behind his back.

Despite their sneaking around, Will eventually catches Dylan and Jules in the act. He's quick to call bullshit on Dylan's confession of love and is sure he'll end up breaking Jules's heart sooner rather than later. Will's prediction comes true when a secret Dylan has been keeping from Will and Jules is uncovered and made public, leaving Jules crushed beyond repair. Dylan suddenly realizes that the most important things in life can never be bought, even with his millions. Now he'll have to figure out a way to beg for forgiveness after hurting the one person he'd give away his entire fortune to have.

Loved this book. The series keeps getting better!

Dylan is the heir to a beer dynasty. Julie is the sister of his best friend and he has known her forever.
On a trip to Vegas he sees her in a different light but can't do anything about it because of the bro code.
When they both need help dealing with the opposite sex they make a deal to help each other out. Little did they know that that help would lead them to love.

Loved Jules and Dylan

I loved this book. Jules and Dylan were so hot together. You could feel the love between them.
Dylans parents were great!
Best line in the book: "The great thing about being rich is being able to do whatever you f'ing want". It sounds arrogant but when you read the book, you will understand it was said to the perfect person. LOL

WOW I loved Calling His Bluff. It was very well written and kept me not wanting to put it down. I loved that the sexual scenes did not make Jules seem slutty or belittle her. The fact that they both crushed on each other from childhood make the ending all the better. Great job Lane.

There are many monologues books on the market but very few provide rich material for comedy. This collection from up and coming comedian & actress Katy Wix plugs that gap and provides female performers with the kind of wonderfully warm and interesting characters that they need – and deserve.

A comedian and writer, Wix has for the past few years been writing audition speeches for students at drama schools including RADA, LAMDA, Drama Centre and The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. A book of contemporary comedy monologues does not exist for today's actor or indeed a book comprising solely of showcase speeches. This is a collection of very funny and original audition speeches filling a significant gap in the market: made up of monologues for various age ranges, each with a running time of two to three minutes. The brevity in length makes these ideal for auditions or showcases and the variety in age and style encompasses different comedic approaches; from the very quirky to the more traditional – perfect for every type of performer.

Katy Wix is a highly gifted and versatile actress and writer, best known for her performance as Tim Vine’s ditzy girlfriend Daisy, in the critically acclaimed BBC1 sitcom, Not Going Out, and has also been a regular character on the hit BBC One drama Torchwood and the BBC Two comedies Outnumbered and Miranda. She has also starred in many other successful television shows including Absolutely Fabulous, Extras and Time Trumpet (BBC Two). Wix has also co-written and starred in Anna & Katy on Channel 4.

Hilarious and utterly brilliant. Writing that leaps off the page and is begging to be performed. There is such limited monologue material available for women and this book is such a positive step in the right direction. I love this book and highly recommend it.

Brilliant but sometimes inappropriate

I found some brilliant monologues in here but be aware that some of the subject matters and language may be inappropriate for some auditions. Otherwise a funny and daring book for monologues!
