surprising delight for Charmed fans

I've read my fair share of spin-off novels in order to get an extra taste of a favorite movie or TV series. You take them with a grain of salt, knowing that they won't exactly be Shakespeare or even up to par with the original work. So, imagine my delight when I picked up this book (the first I've read of the Charmed series), and discovered a very well-written novel that is incredibly faithful to the canon (most delicate of all being the characters and the Charmed universe). Leo (my favorite character) is newly mortal and dealing with Piper's over-protection, when the sisters are kidnapped by a mad scientist. Leo summons his adult sons from the future to help him unravel the mystery and rescue the Charmed Ones. It's a story with enough character and mystery that it could easily have been a strong episode of the series. It could have used more drama and play between Leo, his sons, and Piper. But still, an excellent spin-off. Grade: A-

Awesome!!

I have read all the Charmed books and have seen the episodes many times. I love the books because it still keeps the characters alive even though the tv series is done. I just love to read this book over to pick up on anything I didn't see when I read it before and it is quite funny a little bit when Older Wyatt and Chris come into the book.

This book was given to me by a sister-in-law and I have since used it over and over and recommended it to many others. It's so easy to understand and very straightforward. Anyone and everyone can relate! The best part of it is that it is an affirmation of the true meaning of marriage: commitment through "better or worse".

I hope this isn't for my wife

A few moments ago at work, I got a notification on my smartphone (actually, it's Siri, and she's not that smart, she just sounds confident, almost smug) of an Amazon order of this book, and I thought "hey, I didn't order that book". And then I thought "hey, maybe my wife of nearly 23 years did, boy, I might be in trouble here." And then I thought, "well, 23 years, it was a good run, and you always knew that you weren't good enough for her, and you need to be as decent as you can when she leaves you, maybe consciously uncouple, or consciencely uncouple, I can't remember which." And then I got a text from one of my two 19 year old daughters (you may already know my now 21 year old son from my past review of the Epiphone Casino Guitar, he's going into his senior year of college AND he's in a band). This is the body of the text: "I ... ordered mawmaw a book from our amazon account because she doesn't want the government knowing what she does." Well I got a chuckle out of that. And my marriage is ok. For now. Until word of this review gets out. So to be clear, this book is actually ordered for my mother in law, Mary Jane Zeringue, of New Sarpy Louisiana. Hear that NSA? Miss Mary Jane. Not me.

Secrets of Staying in Love

Every married woman should read this, especially if you have been married for a long time. It really doesn't matter how long ago the book was printed if the principles and values in it are absolute. I delighted in the book, treasuring even more my marriage. I had read the book about 17 years ago in Spanish, and lent the book, and as always was never returned. Reading it again helped me encourage other woman to fight for their marriages and make the commitments necessary to change oneself to endure in a society that does not cherish it.

Lots of American history of this beautiful red & white cow. Very interesting reading about the beginnings of the Polled Hereford and conflict within the membership of the American Hereford Association over the merging of the Polled Herefords with the Horned Herefords.

Many, many names that I'm sure I'll start to recognize as I learn more about the Hereford breed.

Pedigrees of the foundation Herefords are included in the appendex.

Would to have like more pictures of the Herefords they're writing about instead of their breeders! Would have like a description of the detailed breed standards.

About the Author

Greg Farshtey was the main creative force behind the largely successful BIONICLE series: editor-in-chief of the line for The LEGO Group, author of all chapter books, and principal creator of the BIONICLE world. He has since moved on to become the main creative force behind the LEGO Ninjago series.

Jolyon Yates studied graphic design and illustration at Cambridge and Exeter, and Japanese arts in Sapporo, Japan. He lived in Japan for several years, during which time he contributed comics, articles, and illustrations to magazines such as Anime FX. His first professional comics work was the story "Tancho" for Mangazine. He illustrated the award-winning web comic Revvelations, and he has been a regular contributor to G-Fan. He is very happy to be working on LEGO Ninjago but fears losing the ability to draw fingers, ears, and noses.

Son's Favorite Books!!!

We are going to continue going through the entire series with the same ratings, WE LOVE THESE BOOKS!!! These are my 7 year old's first graphic novels and they are his favorite set of books. I admit that I really enjoy them, too. We are both Ninjago fans and we look forward to every next book in the series. Just can't go wrong. Only thing I can say negative about it is small small print, but being a graphic novel, I guess it is the nature of the beast- parents, get out your magnifiers! And enjoy these with your kids.

Gotta have them ALL!!!! Have reviewed today books 1/2/3 and now 5 ( son already had #4) . These are so terriffic for my boys and this series just keeps gettin better with every new volume and I know I've made a great investment in my children's future with these books. We have book 1-5 now and even though the boys have huge bookshelves overflowing with books, they ( 8 & 4 ) are caught sitting with these CONSTANTLY. I've read them all as well since my 4 year old is just starting to read on his own but nothing as grand as this yet, and I as an adult get caught up in the story line as well and before you know it you are at the end of the book and if you don't have the next one in the series, well your no longer popular with your kids. I will be buying the next one's in the series and doing so right here. You can't beat the price here nor the shipping speed or how well the product is intact when it arrives than from this very spot. The #4 book that started this frenzy for my son came from an overpriced book fair and in already browsed thru condition. So I buy from the source I trust most (HERE) and best price/quality/value.

My grandson loves this show and in order to get him to read I ordered everyone of these books. Guess what, he laid/sat on teh couch and read every one of them. Nice tool for kids who are not great fans of reading.
